One of the hazards of living in Abbeville is you lose 14.20 after dark.

I was able to tune in when the score was 36-30 in favor of UNT. So I guess it goes with out saying I am pleasantly surprised.

Bop can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think 1420 boosts the signal for their game broadcasts due to the increased audience. During the day they keep the signal boosted because of the daytime traffic.

Turbine ---I think that this is the worst of UL athletics--Imagine not being able to hear a game 15 miles away--Time for these guys to step up with FM for the games or we go to another station--Why not???? We need the entire community to step up ---How about KPEL!!!!

talk about sad, we start losing the signal in New Iberia at about 3:30....whats the deal, we are about 20 miles for the station as the crow flies and we cant even get good coverage there???!!!!!! pretty pathetic

AM signals bounce off the clouds so the FCC requires they lower the signal power at sundown.

If it gets weaker after 3:30 you might be getting some east coast bounce (interference) from a station with the same dial setting.

Guys, not sure about the women, but you can get the men on 107.9 out of Lafayette. This station is a blow torch in the evening... You can get em in BR, heck I even listened to a Cajun game last year when I was still working in Ruston.

Guys, not sure about the women, but you can get the men on 107.9 out of Lafayette. This station is a blow torch in the evening... You can get em in BR, heck I even listened to a Cajun game last year when I was still working in Ruston.

You can get 107.9 all the way to Kenner. I used to catch about half the game when I lived there on that station. The other half was static and interference from a Missiissippi station. I know a guy who used to put an antenna in his teeth to help the reception prior to the games being available over the net. Women's games are only over 1420.

I used to lose 1420 driving on Mt. Vernon (behind old Academy) when driving from my girlfriend's house in River Ranch to my apartment off Johnston. I always thought they turned down the signal because they were cheap and they wanted to save mula.

I know that when the hip-hop comes on, I start ripping my ears off, gritting my teeth, clawing my eyes out, and running thru the house like the world is coming to an end. But then I shut the radio off and I am OK again.
