Ok, so there are 35 bowl games (70 teams) for this season. We all know that nothing is ever set in stone, except for the number of teams that get in. And of course, I am just thinking out loud with my typing and overthinking things.
As of now, there are 48 teams that are bowl eligible and 46 more teams that can become bowl eligible.
Conference Breakdown:
ACC (10)
Big 12 (9)
Big East (8)
Big Ten (9)
CUSA (7)
Indy's (3)
MAC (9)
MWC (6)
Pac-12 (9)
SEC (12)
SBC (7)
WAC (5)
9 of those 46 won't be eligible with only 1 more losses, which will happen.
19 of the bubble teams won't be eligible for 2 more losses.
That will probably leave a few bowls struggling to fill their slots. Good news for the Sun Belt is that all 5 (or 6 if North Texas wins out) teams should go bowling. Only question is where they go, and the more wins the Cajuns pile up the closer they will be to home. Ok, enough thinking. Time to pack Cajun Field on the 17th for the BLACKOUT! Will we see black jerseys?
