I am a UF alum and a big Gators fan but will be secretly pulling for the cajuns this weekend to keep it close (grew up in Louisiana and some of those years in Lafayette, so always been a Cajuns fan). Would have been much better for Cajuns if they played UF in first game of season rather than now. I think it will be a blow out, but cajuns are more talented and at least as good as Bowling Green. Also, consider that Tennessee struggled to beat Troy and UL Monroe beat Arkansas. Cajuns easily beat both of those teams on the road. UF struggling against Bowling Green, Vanderbilt and Missouri gives Cajuns hope if UF plays that way this weekend. But realistically, if UF opens up the offense Gators likely will score over 40 pretty easily (despite their struggles in SEC). Gators D if it comes to play will likely keep Cajuns offense from scoring more than 10, unless in garbage time.
Just promise this... if we're up by 10 with 4 seconds left... with the ball on our 10 yard line... and you leave your punt block team in... and they blitz us... if we throw the ball to an open receiver and he takes it the distance... we DO NOT want to see some emotionally twisted article the next day from a female Gator beat writer that goes by a name of a domestic cat. Ok?
please pay no attention to the optimistic posts above. we are a poor downtrodden shell of a team which plays in the overwhelming shadow of the purple scourge to the east of us, whom you call lsu; we call them lsua&m@br, or as i choose to shorten the name now that tx a&m is in their conference, la a&m. we are such a young team, we simply will be in awe of playing such a big-name school like florida. we are so young and inexperienced on offense, we will probably pull a la a&m and not cross the 50. our defense is so porous, its nickname is "swiss cheese." we love our team, but our team color should be green to reflect our youth and lack of experience. please take it easy on us. and please, don't rub it in at the end of the game by throwing a bomb. that would be classless. hee-hee
That's a regional network by definition (CSS is self labeled the face of college sports in the south.) National being FSN, ESPN and ESPN2 as well as the basics like CBS, ABC, etc.
Yes you can get some channels on DTV, etc that arent normally broadcast in your area, but I'm talking about coast to coast on std cable. That would be the OSU, NT, ASU and UF games only.
Its all semantics in this day and age anyway. You can basically watch any game in some form or another.
Actually Florida game isn't, half the country will see Tenn vs missouri
It is confusing and we are taking steps to rectify that. Louisiana Monroe has branded itself as ULM and we have branded ourselves as Louisiana. So, look at it like Cal and UCLA, or Texas and UTEP, or Nevada and UNLV, or Alabama and UAB. ESPN has been inconsistent in its references to us. I agree, if they call us Louisiana, that will get the point across fastest. CBS gets it and calls us Louisiana. Phil Steele calls us Louisiana. Most schools on our schedule call us Louisiana and we thank Florida for doing so.
