5 bowls, $4M total payout. Not bad for the 'Belt.

I don't think a 6-6 ULM team goes bowling, and I don't see them winning again without their QB. He was 80% of their offense.

Hey, better them than us. Also, somewhat better than sitting at home like they did last year.

At least it is played indoors and BG is the closest SBC town to Detroit.

I think if we were invited to Detroit I would turn it down. We would most certainly lose money and not too many of us would go. It's just not a good place for a bowl game.

I would be hard pressed to go and I've made almost every away game this year. That city is a $h*t hole and do not care to be murdered or robbed.

Turn down a bowl game? If they want us to play a bowl game in Alaska, you go. We have been to 1 bowl game in 40 years. It's a reward for the players, it's not always just about dollars. You would be surprised how many people would still go.

Yeah, it's amazing how, for some, there are bowls that are suddenly beneath us

I look forward to the day that attitude is realistic. Today is not that day.

I don't think it is beneath us, I just prefer not to go into a battle zone. I would feel safer in Iraq than I would in Detroit. I have spent the last 15 years up north and I can tell you there is nothing good that comes out of that city.

Recently there was an event in Detroit (I forget what it was) where the Detroit Police would not guarantee the safety of those who attended.

Success, unfortunately, encourages unrealistic attitudes & expectations.

Just look at our beloved sister schools to the east and north.
