You may have heard the analogy that Saturday's 28-3 baseball score was like the score in a football game, 4 touchdowns to 1 field goal. . .
Well, what if they scored baseball like football?
U L 196
UALR 21
UL's baseball team moved back into one national poll Monday, and almost jumped into a second.
The Ragin' Cajuns (38-13) are ranked 28th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll, joining Creighton (37-12) as new teams in the top 30 listing. UL was ranked by the NCBWA earlier this year. Michigan and College of Charleston dropped out of the poll.
The Cajun squad is just outside the USA Today/ESPN coaches top 25 poll, ranking second in the others receiving votes (essentially 27th) in its Monday listing.

UL's baseball team has won six straight games and leads the Sun Belt Conference race by six full games, having already clinched the league's regular-season title.
In other words, the Ragin' Cajuns are hot.
Nicholls State's baseball squad is out of the running for a spot in the Southland Conference tournament and currently stands last in the Southland's East Division, to go with a 10-42 overall record. NSU has won only seven of its last 36 games.
In other words, the Colonels are not hot.

Is the Nicholls vs Cajuns game on the radio anywhere, I can't find it.

i just looked at weather.com and it still looks like they have some pretty beefy storms in the area. I don't think they will play this one, especially with the NCAA rule about lightning being within so many miles of the ballpark.

but, another win closer to 40 wins would have been nice...
however, there are plenty games left to make that happen. I have really liked how we've played the past two weeks without midweek games so maybe this will be our ticket to another conference weekend sweep.
So much for Coach Robe's goal to go 10 straight to end the regular season...
