Thread: UL's Sydney Grider is Devery Henderson's financial advisor

  1. Support UL's Sydney Grider is Devery Henderson's financial advisor

After his first two pro seasons produced just 22 catches for 343 yards, three touchdowns and much speculation of whether he'd even make the team this season, Henderson has turned it around.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder has 32 receptions for 745 yards and five touchdowns.

That's 23.3 yards per catch, tops in the NFL.

"I've still got a lot to learn, but leading the league in yards per catch is nice," Henderson said. "It's good to be No. 1 in something, as long as it's not a bad thing."

Financial advisor and former ULL basketball star Sydney Grider said the timing for Henderson's statement season was perfect.

"It was a big year for him," Grider said. "By the third year, these teams look at it as a make it or break it season. When you get to the third year, they look at it as what type of player youčre going to be. I've been talking to him about being a more complete receiver.

"He's shown that he can be the home run hitter. Now he needs to make the 15-yard out. He can do it, but Sean Payton has to be confident that he can do it consistently."

I loved that behind the head launch of his. I remember one night at UNO Lakefront watching Sydney hit 3-pointers from every spot on the floor, regardless of who was in his face, and sometimes 10 feet behind the arc. I couldn't figure out how that style of shot made for such an accurate launch, but he was one fun dude to watch.

Are isn't typical that an LSU alum has to support a ULL alum. I think that is closer to the truth. LSA alum is good enought to make at the next level and the UL alum is not.

I kept seeing that you were monitoring the board and wondered why you hadn't chirped. I thought you were an attorney. If this isn't the only board you monitor, are you really an attorney. You write and think like a 4th grader. Head injury?

Who else was on that team? Kevin Brooks and Aron Mitchell? Was Mouton on that team or later teams? That was a great bunch to watch and I'm not a basketball person.

I don't have the recall a lot of folks do, but I recall Kevin, Aaron, Marcus Stokes, Byron Starks, Sydney, Todd Hill, and Eric Mouton overlapping over some years. I think Eric came at the tail end of that group. I remember the times, but unfortunately don't have the perfect recollection. They were certainly good Cajun MBB days... and I look forward to more.

Remember what he did to the University of Texas-Pan American? Scorched them for 41 points. I don't think anyone has a higher three-point percentage than Mr. Grider. He lived in "the zone" and very few defenders could do anything about it.
