More than anything else, UL's softball team will be looking to regain its homefield magic tonight.
The Ragin' Cajuns (28-8), having moved up in both of this week's national polls, haven't played at Lamson Park since a disappointing pair of losses to Middle Tennessee two weeks ago in a Sun Belt Conference series.
Those were the first two home losses after 13 straight home wins to start the season, and UL will look to start another streak at 6 p.m. today in a single game against Southern Mississippi (10-20).
UL stands 15th in both the USA Today/NFCA and the ESPN.com/USA Softball polls this week, moving up two spots in the NFCA rankings and one in the USA Softball list. Those moves came after going 4-1 in last weekend's Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif., a streak that included wins over Fresno State, second-ranked Arizona State, Notre Dame and Penn State.
