What makes it a "retread"
Also i never see Louisville use that logo! Not ever they use the Cardinal, and the Old English Script L. They may use it for other things but its not interlocking, and it doesnt show as an official logo from the first post 20 years ago, they probably got new band uniforms.

Louisville has abandoned it, for sure.
That doesn't mean it's not a retread.
I will add one thing, we do need to update the logo to bettet fit us though. If we are using UL signage.
Example
Oregon then Oregon now:

This is what I’ve always wondered. Did we stop using the interlocking UL for an actual reason, or did it just quietly fade out over time? It feels like we moved away from it on purpose, but nobody ever really explained why.
Even in baseball, when they brought it back, it was labeled as a throwback cap which makes it pretty clear that UL has shifted its branding away from the interlocking UL and toward the Louisiana forward identity. Which i am fine, but then you left this vacuum where you are left without a true blue Louisiana Logo. Which is when i started this quest for a true Louisiana Logo.
I always thought it was because of the LSU Rule? I assumed that.
It’s like the mascot, okay you got rid of Cayenne, it needed to be discontinued, but you then did not try to replace it with anything.
Not saying that you just slap any old mascot and call it a day, but its like, we good no more mascot.
