I am interested in starting a scholarship to honor the late Jim Barton, who as most of you know died last week and was an outstanding running back for USL in the late 60s. I have been in contact with Dr A and he has personal from UL that will help me set it up.

What I hope to do is set up a $500 fall scholarship for a walk on football player who does not receive an initial scholarship but makes the team and with no other requirements other than he stays with the program. Pending on how much we raise, this could go on for a while. I am not sure how many true Cajun fans are on these forums, but say there is 100 at $25 each, that goes a long way. Once I get it setup, will also contact alumni chapters and the S club. ()
