More people in your stadium would benefit Tech.

Same way scheduling Southern, or McNeese benefits the Cajuns.

That's why moving to USA is good for us. We'll actually have a larger (?) contingent of visiting fans...more regional interest. Currently, our closest opponent is NMST! I dont think playing McNeese, Southern is good for y'all either.

Why would UL care one way or the other if we play ULM?

You can talk about the attendance with a full stadium, but we'd have to take the tarps down. And you guys love talking about those tarps!

But really, why would UL care about anything that would benefit Tech? For slamming ULM so much on here, you guys sure seem to have jumped into their boat this time around. C'mon! Don't let your guard down. Remember your heated battle with the name issue, their attendance, the chickenhoax, Moanroe? They're going to start thinking you really care about them.

NORMALLY, I would agree with you. But ULM has had enough good press beating Arkansas and playing two other bigger programs close, that I think people outside Louisiana would watch. Couple that with the impressive year Tech is having and I think it would get good ratings.

We care because you and other Lousiana Tech fans say no way ULM would beat you guys.

Well, no one will ever know because y'all refuse to play them.

Most bowl games are played on New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, or on a primetime slot between mid-December and early January. The Independence Bowl is scheduled this year for a Friday afternoon kickoff at 1 pm on 12/28. This bowl is usually given one of the worst time slots on ESPN of all the bowl games. The ratings and viewership levels would be lousy for any matchup.

Odds are most people around the country would not see the game or care about it regardless of the teams that play in the game. It could be a 6-6 ACC team vs. a 6-6 SEC team or Louisiana Tech vs. ULM in the Indy Bowl. Most of the country would not care in any case.

What I'm saying is, why would UL need to know? We're not in the same conference, so it doesn't affect UL one way or the other. What difference does it make to UL? You guys really care about ULM?

What makes us need to care about Tech or ULM to comment on your refusal to play them? This thread only grew legs when someone from Tech questioned Jay's opinion regarding Tech and ULM wrt the Harris poll. Tech's issues with ULM don't effect us. But, it's entertaining banter. It's kind of odd, however, that a Tech guy is on the UL forum asking why "we care"? Why are you on here caring about "our forum"?

Oh, and we'd like to ____ down the neck of both Tech and ULM. It's just any given day which one we'd most like to drop our load on.

Because, I like to follow what the three schools are doing. But, as far as I'm concerned, what they do is their own business.

I was the one that asked Jay about his ranking and he answered why. That's good enough for me. Jay is very fair in his articles and I respect his opinion. I enjoy reading his articles.

I don't know why this thread grew so big either, but I suspect it had something to do with La Tech being in it.
