The drive down Ambassador Caffery Parkway, past the Mall of Acadiana and big box stores toward Youngsville, once was nothing but a long trek through seemingly endless stretches of pasture. Today, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center's tan and cream towers stand as a monument to the growing health care industry, a stone's throw from Women's and Children's Hospital and several new medical office buildings that dot the area south of the intersection of Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Kaliste Saloom Road.
