Thats a huge commit. Kelley was a special athlete at STM and he will be valuable for us. He is such a versatile player. When STM played BBHS this year it was right after their QB went down for the year. Kelley came in and made the plays at QB, WR and returner that they needed. He played as well as John Williams (LSU commit) did for us in that particular game. His speed is exceptional and he knows what to do with the ball. I would love to see him in the Vermilion and White.

Lance Kelley now knows where he'll play college football. The only question left is where he'll play once he gets there.
The multi-talented and multi-position St. Thomas More standout doesn't have a long road to the "next level," having given UL coach Rickey Bustle a verbal commitment on the Saturday before Christmas.
"He was pretty happy," Kelley said Tuesday. "He said it was a good Christmas present."
Kelley, who became the Cajuns' ninth verbal pledge to the 2007 recruiting class, told the Cajun coach that he'd play wherever he was needed - much like his senior year at STM.
Kelley was the all-around threat personified for the Cougars, putting up numbers as a quarterback, a rusher, a receiver and a kick returner while also stepping into the STM secondary in key situations.

Coach Bustle is picking up some great talent. Looking forwared to spring already....having some young talent at WR is a good thing. What we need is for one of the young QB's to step up and perform.
Kelley is a NICE PICK UP for the Cajuns. God knows we could use some "HANDY" receivers to catch the ball. Looking forward to seeing him on the field.
Bustle
The longer he extended his own recruiting process, the more St. Thomas More standout Lance Kelley began to realize the inevitable: There was no place other than home for him.
So Kelley decided the day after Christmas to present University of Louisiana at Lafayette football coach Rickey Bustle with a belated gift in the form of his commitment.
“Originally, I told my mom I would just kind of wait it out, that way I could keep my options open and we agreed to that,” Kelley said. “But deep down I always knew I wanted to stay here (UL-Lafayette). I used to go watch their games when I was younger. I knew that’s where I wanted to go and I figured there was no sense in waiting any longer.”
The addition of Kelley is another boost to the recruiting efforts of UL-Lafayette, not only from a local perspective but statewide as well.
Not only does Kelley give the Ragin’ Cajuns their ninth commitment, but the versatile the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder is rated as the state’s No. 25 player by Tigerbait.com after playing six different positions and excelling on special teams as well.
Kelley, an academic qualifier with a 3.2 grade point average, chose UL-Lafayette over scholarship offers from Colorado, Houston, Navy, UL-Monroe and Air Force. He also drew interest from LSU and Oklahoma State.
