Give Lee a contract extension
How long did we sign Robert Lee up for? I had a lot of hope for this team but things are not looking good.Originally Posted by TillmansNumber1

The fact the NCAA will not count wins against NAIA teams makes the OB game upsetting. Why give a payout to a team who can't help you in the win/loss column? Was SLU, Centenary or any other small school in Louisiana not available? The first home game must be a win, for the sake of local morale and team confidence, but was OB the only team available? Given that there are 336 or 337 programs, there has to be reason to believe the Cajuns could've played a team that would've counted.
As it stands, the Cajuns have just one win.
It is correct to say that two conference games, both losses, have been played. "Conference play begins Thursday" was said because most (except for the Charlotte game) of the upcoming games are in conference. Cajuns have lost to UNO, Ark State.
LAKE CHARLES - UL's basketball team was in prime shape to take its first road victory of the season here Saturday night, but turnovers and missed free throws clanked their chains in the closing minutes.
McNeese State took full advantage, outscoring the Cajuns 10-0 during the final three minutes in taking a 68-63 victory at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
The Cajuns, falling for the fifth straight time and for the sixth time in six away games this year, led 63-58 with 3:27 left on a pair of David Dees free throws. UL (2-10) never scored again, with three turnovers, two missed shots and one key miss at the line in its closing possessions.
McNeese only had one field goal in those final three minutes, but it was a big one. Senior forward Quinten Gonzales drove for a short jumper with 40 seconds after an offensive rebound to give the Cowboys (5-7) a 64-63 lead.
Ross Mouton, the game's leading scorer with 22 points, was fouled six seconds later, but his free throw rattled in and out and MSU's Troy Aaron controlled the rebound. Rorey Lawrence hit two free throws after being fouled - his only points in the game - for a three-point margin, and after Rhett Hebert missed a potential tying trey the Cowboys added two free throws in the final 10 seconds.

David Dees production has fallen off the charts. Is he playing out of position or being asked to do something differrent from early season? Through the years I have seen to much emphasis on defense kill some shooters touch

Pewweeee! The Coaching 'round here is stinking up the place!
I think Coach Lee has at least two years remaining on his contract after this one. That means calling for a change is pointless due to finances. I don't disagree the season is going to end up with a very poor record and that it is natural for him to catch heat as a result since he is ultimately responsible. Even if the Cajuns don't win another game, he will return next year as the administration gave him that assurance after he went to them and told them he was going to go with a youth movement. They supported that move which means they were willing to take their lumps this year.Originally Posted by RCAJUN90

We are so generous with jobs. I have a cousin that is in his 50's and had never held a job for more than 6 months. Where does he apply at UL?Originally Posted by Cajunsmike

Sorry this has taken so long.
The fans who attended the game on Sat. had the opportunity to contribute to a fund to assist the sister and nephew of one of McNeese's basektball players who lost all (or certainly most) of their belongings in a house fire approx 10 days earlier. I forgot the amount collected, but the point is that contributors included Cajun fans. For that, I thank you.
