Coach Shipley will always remain dear in the hearts of those of us who knew him and had the pleasure of watching his teams play. As long as we're alive, he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Coach. Blessings to your family.

I had a chance to sit down and talk with him for about two hours the week before the basketball reunion in January. Such a great basketball mind and a good man. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
RIP
Thanks for all you did, not only for UL, but college basketball. He was a true, "Alpha Dog". His story must be told. The university should consider naming next seasons tournament after him.

Prayers on the way for the Shipley family
Sad to see him go. A true Ragin Cajun legend. He will be missed.
May God bless you Coach, and your family. We were certainly blessed by your presence.
Sad time...but hearing his name will forever bring back great USL basketball memories...and a smile to my face.
