    I'll never forget sitting in a chair exhausted after a win in old McNaspy---he comes over and puts a hand on my shoulder and congrats. me for the win---He was always there for everybody------just a huge backer for all the teams!!!!

    Sad news. Just got news that former basketball Coach Beryl Shipley passed away last night. (Friday April 15).

    Hopefully, the LA Hall of Fame people will one day do what is right.

    Coach deserves to be in the hall of fame.

    UL athletics cut it close, but at least did recogonize his accomplishments before his death. Legendary Coach and great guy! Thanks for the memories Coach!

    Coach Shipley will always remain dear in the hearts of those of us who knew him and had the pleasure of watching his teams play. As long as we're alive, he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Coach. Blessings to your family.

    I had a chance to sit down and talk with him for about two hours the week before the basketball reunion in January. Such a great basketball mind and a good man. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

    Thanks for all you did, not only for UL, but college basketball. He was a true, "Alpha Dog". His story must be told. The university should consider naming next seasons tournament after him.
