For the first time this year, UL's basketball team will face some recognizable faces Wednesday night.

The Ragin' Cajuns (2-8) met up with Cal State Fullerton three weeks ago at the Cajundome, and they'll make the return visit to Fullerton at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday in its final game before a Christmas break.

UL lost that game 91-89 in overtime, missing a chance to win the game at the end of regulation and late in the extra period. But Cajun coach Robert Lee will take his team's effort in that game and be thrilled with it - especially after what he saw Sunday at the 'Dome.

The Cajuns did very few positive things in Sunday's second half of what became a 73-63 Sun Belt Conference loss to Arkansas State, one that dropped UL to 0-2 in the young league race.

"I just don't understand that kind of effort," Lee said Monday. "We've got to play a lot better, because if you don't give effort and have the talent of other teams, you're going to get whipped."
