No way Irish should be #3; 2 suspect calls in final 2 minutes allows them to go into overtime & beat Stanford.
I like Notre Dame at #3 at this point. They have played an overall tougher schedule than any other team behind them and they are undefeated. Every game they play is a rival game. They still have Oklahoma and USC left. If they go undefeated (which is a big if), they absolutely deserve a shot for the national championship.
Played a tougher schedule?! C'mon man. Stanford is way overrated at 17 and they got hosed yesterday. Notre Dame is better, but they are not a top 10 team.
Who have they beaten? Michigan?! Another overrated team that plays no defense and is average at best? Miami who just lost to North Carolina this weekend? Michigan State who can't hold their own in conference? Purdue?!? NAVY?!?!?
Who has Alabama beaten? Michigan?! Another overated team that plays no defense and is average at best? Arkansas? A team that lost to ULM? Western Kentucky, team that beat Kentucky in overtime? Ole Miss? Mizzou without their qb? FAU!?!?!?!?
Take Alabama out the top-10.
Irish have 7 home games actually 8 total; 1 being the Navy game in Ireland. Against just 4 away games. I am sure NBC is loving that kind of schedule for being able to hype up "undefeated" irish. Disgusting!
Alabama has 7 home games plus a neutral location game. I bet ESPN is loving that kind of schedule for being able to hype up "undefeated" Crimson Tide. Disgusting!
Alabama since 2009 = 42-4
Irish since 2009 = 22-22
Texas at number 19 and two loses in a row, giving up over 180 points in three games. Not when there are other more deserving teams. I know W Virginia can score, but somebody shut them down yesterday, and when was the last tiem Ok put 60 on a quality opponent? A few times in the 2000 to 2012 era, Texas rank top fifty-three all time regardless of quality.
So I drop Texas totally out of the top 25, there are twenty-five teams in this country that would beat Texas on most Saturdays on a neutral field.
