Anyone have an update on the Texas trip and the Lamar game. Out of town and couldn't keep up. Haack, Myers and Fernandez seem like our starters in infield; who's our 2nd? baseman? OF also will need two new starters. Waterman, maybe? Any info? I know it's a while before spring but this will be a really interesting year. Five seniors on this team and we'll really miss them.
At the Spring/Klein, TX tournament, we beat St. Edwards, we lost to Baylor. Neressa Myers hit two home runs.
We beat Lamar. Freshman, Sara Corbello of Barbe High School hit two homers. She had 5 rbi's. Freshman Shellie Landry of SMT got some hits. Many first time freshmen, the transfers; and several red shirt freshmen got to play vs Lamar. Last year's starters on this year's team didn't see much action except for Nerissa Myers, Natalie Fernandez and Brianna Cherry.
The big, BIG girls are coming to town on Saturday to play the Cajuns. That's the Professional All-Star Team! All of them are All Americans and several are former Olympians! They are the BEST women playing softball in the USA at this time. It is a big honor that they are coming here to play the Cajuns. They will be at Lamson at 5 pm on October 20. Tickets in the grandstand are $18 and $10 in the outfield. It's a BIG game!
What were the scores of the games?
In Fall Ball, it is really difficult to tell. No official score is kept. It is IMPOSSIBLE to keep a score sheet. The games are so long, 14 innings, that you sometimes have to leave for the bathroom or nachos. I cannot be sure, so in stead of fabricating the scores, suffice it to say, we beat St. Edwards by about 5 runs, we lost to Baylor by about 5 runs and we beat Lamar by at least 5 runs. None of the contests were "run rule" games.
