Brandon Mitchell had a friend swindle over $500K in a poor business deal. I wouldn't say that he mismanaged money the way most in that feature has.

While there were a few idiots who blew their money on cars, hookers, and jewelry, they also featured a bunch of guys who "helped out" their friends and family, invested badly (with friends instead of smarter, low-risk alternatives), or just plain lost a ton due to the economic crash. I know nothing of Brandon Mitchell's situation, but if he lost a bunch of money investing in a business deal with a friend, he would have been very much the norm on that show.
