I'm not suggesting that is what you are advocating it, but why would anyone want to put the Acadiana Flag on our helmets. For that matter, why is our band the Pride of Acadiana? We are not the University of Acadiana. We are the University of Louisiana and should represent the state, not a region of the state. The band should be the Pride of Louisiana.

We got rid of Southwestern from the past. Time to let go of Acadiana as well. We are LOUISIANA. We need to capture that name EVERYWHERE and not add to the name confusion that we seem to continuously create ourselves.

I agree with you. It would just add to the confusion and make us sound really small time. We are LOUISIANA!

Just think of it as a throwbacks like the NFL has done in the past (NY Jets wearing old NY Titans stuff.)

Man, those are some snazzy helmets. I like the white face mask better. The fleur de lis looks great. I'm scratching my head wondering if introducing that into our already large UL symbology takes us to a better place... or does it add to the identity confusion.

J1M I really like the fleur de lis too. However I also agree we don't need to fragment our branding. The helmets should either be "Ragin Cajuns" or "Cajuns", "Louisiana" on the jersey. People identify the f-d-l with the Saints, especially outside the state. If we really want a fleur-de-lis on the uniform, maybe on the pants (hip).
