Tonight I was watching the Acadiana game and wow Journet is good. I believe he is a DE, however he was standing a lot of the time and was in coverage when he picked off the pass that sealed the game. I believe he would be a great Outside LB.

I believe I have read on some recruiting sites that Mr Journet is definitely on the Cajuns Radar!Originally Posted by Clutch0364

He showed great speed at the DE position running down Catholic's running back from the backside numerous times. He carried their defense all night.Originally Posted by Clutch0364
The announcers said that he benched and power cleaned over 350 lbs (very impressive especially for high school). With his speed and strength, he will be playing somewhere next season and hopefully as a cajun.
I went up to Bastrop Friday night to watch my alma mater, Minden (undefeated #1 seed) play. Boy, was that a bad decision. Bastrop beat the crap out of them, 60-6. But Minden has a soph QB that has a great arm and touch. I am not sure of his size, but he looked to be in the 6' to 6' 2" range, although still pretty skinny. Our coaches should start looking at him. Bastrop has a TON of athletes. Their QB looked like Michael Vick with serious quickness (and passed kinda like him, too!). But their defense was awesome. They were all over the field and really putting on some serious hits. One of the hardest hits I have EVER seen (at any level!) happened right before halftime. Minden's QB threw a beautiful ball about 40 yards over the cornerback, dropping it right into the receiver's hands right along the sideline. But the safety came over and hit him right as the ball got there with such force that the Minden player was down for several minutes. And at the half, he was half-carried to the locker room. (He DID come back out in the 2nd half and warm up). Cajun coaches need to look this year at Bastrop. Isn't LB Tre Green from Bastrop? Maybe he has some pull with a few of their players. BTW, it was VERY hard to watch the Cajuns play shortly after watching the Minden game. It makes me want stay away from my alma maters' games as I think I'm a very Bad Luck Charm.Originally Posted by redcajun

I watched the Sulphur/Rummel game and although they lost, Rummel has a good looking quarterback. The guy has good size, a strong arm and running ability. Not sure what class he is in but we should be working on him. I've got a feeling he may be playing for an SEC caliber team in the future though.Originally Posted by RaginFan2
Are you kidding me...Scott Buisson from Rummel is far from SEC caliber. He isn't 1a caliber in my view. He doesn't have a stronger arm than anyone on our roster and according to all recruiting sites he is only in the 5'10 range.Originally Posted by showdog
As far as AHS is concerned, as long as LHS beats them in anything and everything, that's all I care about!!!!! LHS '99!!!!Originally Posted by DaddyCajun

As far as recruiting is concerned, I hope we do get this guy and more like him. We've got entirely too many good players in Lafayette and the Acadiana area that leave to go elsewhere. A pipeline to players in our own backyard is a good thing.
God Bless
