LOL at the 1 year contract. What dolt would take that?!

Either Authement is serious about football or he isn't. He teases us by building a practice facility and spending alot of money on a head coach... then he displeases us by offering a one year contract to a coveted coordinator.

Be careful folks. Oldman is lurking and will give you all a sound and coherent tongue lashing for your criticism of Dr. A.

It was only money. More per year, and multiple years. How can you blame the guy?

It is only rumor but I have heard applewhite will be at alabama. Only rumor but sometimes rumors come true.

And the main reason UL did not persue the WAC? It would bankrupt the athletic department! You cannot have it both ways either the costs associated with the WAC do not justify the added revenue, or they do. LTU sells no more tickets, and has no larger donations than UL, so why can they and not us?

Got to wonder if we'll ever know the whole story. Did we have an "official" offer on the table? Was there any delay due to the football conference in San Antonio last week? Was Bustle still considering other OC candidates? Did we even know LaTech was considering/offering him? Would that have mattered anyway? That is, could we have upped the offer to get him in here? So who are we looking at now? I have to admin, it was a good sign to have 2 quality/proven coordinators coming in to Lafayette!

COACH BUSTLE IS NOT BEING ALLOWED TO BE SUCCESFUL. MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD NOW, CAUSE ONCE BUSTLE IS GONE.....who will we get. CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE IMMEDIATELY.

What do we do Z? Obviously, every other state school in the nation that prospers in sports, directly or indirectly, prospers in all other university endeavors... including education. Investment in athletics IS investing in education. Is this his beef? I am getting sick of his lack of vision.

Do I think the enormous amount of funds that get thrown into college sports is a highly redeeming action? NO. Do I think that having everyone, including alumni more knowledgable about and more proud of winning sporting events than knowing what academic achievements have been made are redeeming? NO. Do I think you can use sports to build a more credible foundation to launch your research and education pursuits. YES.

And gee... is it all that bad that it would be a whole lot of fun for our students, student/athletes, faculty and admin, alumni and fans? NO!
