Scelfo Fired at Tulane, ire at UL, hired at Tech

I spoke with someone earlier in the day and the salary spread that he quoted was 30K annually. No other information regarding multi year available. This is what I heard.

Do offensive coordinators at D1 programs really just make 30K per year? I was not aware it was so low. To rise to such a prominent position in your field and not start getting paid higher salaries just doesn't seem right.

He's getting approximately 30K a year more than we offered.

If it is on the internet it must be true. Of course it is not true, it is total BS. We have no full time assitant making that kind of money.

No I believe he meant that he would have gotten 30K less here

Does anyone have any insight to the OC for Louisiana now that Scelfo is going to Tech? Does anyone know why he chose Tech instead of UL? Was it money, League, School, support, what?

I'd say it's more about a multi year contract offer, compared to a one year offer. That is the major difference, and of course you know the person that makes those decisions.

When Dooley took over at tech, he wanted more money for assistents so it looks like he got what he wanted.

Major Applewhite, OC from Rice is from Baton Rouge, would be a good fit. Young, QB at Texas, from Louisiana, would fit in well with recruiting these areas.
