Among the two St. Landry Parish School Board members facing accusations of extortion, one has a similar story in his past. Back in 2004, Quincy Richard (pictured, right) and his wife were involved in the Southern University grade-buying scandal. Richard and his wife pled guilty to paying a university official $1,500 for a master's degree and also to filing false public records. Back then Richard was already on the St. Landry Parish School Board, he was forced to resign because of the scandal.
