Is a chicken not prey? And the funniest mascot this school ever had by far was the chicken. Wasn't that guy banned from the sporting events because some of his acts were deemed too indecent for a family event?

I don't think that was the reason. The reason I heard was that he was taking too much attention and time away from the student cheerleaders and dance team and was not a student at the time. The Fabulous Cajun Chicken would perform his routines during almost every timeout and dead ball period during basketball games.

Boy, I sure miss those days!

The onion comes out after a loss, cuts itself and we all cry.

The celery comes out when the the team is standing tall in the face of adversity.

The bell pepper (make sure it ages to Vermilion Red) comes out after a victory, climbs the tower and rings that "BELL"

Then they party with the post game tailgaters.

ya know what...lets just go all in on goofy. I say we get 3 mascots and make it the cajun holy trinity...an onion, a bell pepper, and a stalk of celery.
