LOUISIANA La. - Each week Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns football coaching staff honors its outstanding performers from the previous week’s game by designating them as Players of the Week.
This week’s Offensive Player of the Game award for this past week’s game against Florida International was given to sophomore wide receiver Tyrell Fenroy. He picked up his second honor of the 2006 season.
Fenroy led all players with 34 rushes for 172 yards – his fourth game this season with over a 100 yards rushing. Fenroy’s 172 rushing yards is a career high for the sophomore running back.
The Defensive Player of the Game was awarded to Johnny Felders.
Felders led the Cajuns with seven tackles in the game. He collected five solo tackles and added a pair of assisted tackles.
The Special Forces Player of the Game honors went to Brit Framel.
Framel handled the kickoff and punting duties for UL. He did a good job of pinning the Golden Panthers deep in their own territory.
The Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week was Connor Morel. The Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week was Norris Gray.
The Cajuns also honored Derrick Smith with the Thumper Award for biggest hit on offense, while the Hammer Award for the biggest hit on defense was given to Lamar Morgan and Antwyne Zanders. The Kuhuna Award for special teams biggest hit was awarded to Antwyne Zanders and Chris Lanaux.
