CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Ragin' Cajuns soccer team closed out the Catamount Classic with a 2-0 shutout of Gardner-Webb in the squad's final tune up before opening conference play on Friday.

"The girls came out ready to play today," head coach Scot Wieland said. "We played a full game, and that was the key. It just goes to show how good we can be when we play for 90 minutes. The team made up their mind that they weren't going to leave North Carolina without a win."

Louisiana (5-4-0) outshot the Bulldogs (1-6-0) 18-15 in the contest with 10 shots coming on frame. The Cajuns also held a slight 7-6 edge in corners.

Senior Amanda Moorefield posted eight saves in the contest to pick up her third shutout of the season.

"Amanda played pretty big today," Wieland noted. "She stopped a couple one-on-one situations for us, and played big in the penalty area".

Hayden Gibson notched her third goal of the year and second game-winner of the 2012 season in the 45th minute when her corner kick was deflected into the back of the net to give the Cajuns a 1-0 edge.

Gibson then connected with Shelby Isley on a corner kick in the 47th minute to increase the UL advantage to 2-0. The goal was the fourth of the season for Isley and ties Erin Lynn for the team lead.

"For 90 minutes Hayden played tough and controlled the middle for us," Wieland said. "She has battled all season long and today her hard work paid off."

Gibson, Isley and Gayla Foster were named to the Catamount Classic All-Tournament Team after leading the Cajuns to a 1-1 record over the weekend.

The Cajuns are slated to open the Sun Belt Conference season on Friday at 7 p.m. when they host North Texas at the Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.
