Most of the red you saw was primer with a little bit of rust. We have about 5 to 7 working days left to finish the project but given the weather it won't be finished until mid January. We are getting about 2 or 3 good working days per week.

Inside was painted too, but it is finished.

All I know is...I type in www.louisiana.edu, it's not taking me to ULM's website. That would be www.ulm.edu.

The Louisiana and the Lafayette are up on the Johnston side of the tower. I'll put it to you this way..... this is the best looking logo with lafayette in it that you have ever seen.

Yes, but it's hard to explain to the workers in my broken Spanish even though three of the five workers speak English. Fall protection is the number one priority for me. Most confined space accidents (as are most accidents) in water tower work are a result of a fall. (typically from a failed rigging or a broken swinging ginney) If you eliminate the fall, then the confined space problems pretty much take care of themselves. Falls usually result in death.

Breathing air is the next problem, especially during blasting, painting less so. In both cases breathing air is supplied through an air supplied respirator. Breathing air at other times is no problem because of the natural ventilation from the bottom of the tank to the roof hatches and vents. (it's a natural chimney).

Dangerous work no matter what though. It only takes a little lapse in judgement and you are in big trouble.

    Bump
Article in todays Advertiser has a couple of Pics of how the tower looked before and now with the academic logo. It looks nice. The athletic logo is not yet finished. This is good for UL. We need more of this.

If you can't get rid of the &%^% (lafayette), then hide the &^%^, right?
