I agree with you, although presently he's too light & plays too high as a tackle against the competition they play. Would love to see him at defensive end where he could use his height & athletic ability. The same goes for tight end, but his head is just not in it. I find out tonight about this one.

  2. This is so COOL

    I like beer.

Liability? I mean if they are worried about Liability don't you think they shouldn't sell it at any other sporting event.

Its sold at Basketball and Baseball, why not Football?

I look at it this way, the students will drink regardless.

I mean, is it just me or hard liquer gets you messed up a little more than beer.

So heres my solution: Serve beer, students won't bring in the hard stuff, and not that we have a problem but there will be less extrememly drunk people like myself.

Those straight whiskey games really get to me.
Haa you know what i mean, buy a coke and poor almost the whole thing out and feel it with a whole pint.

    IM not an alchy
oooops i denied it ok I am an alchy, hmmm what is one who drinks suppossed to say.
Who cares let me drink in peace.

  5. Sunbelt League play begins in Sun Belt football

In addition to Louisiana’s Sun Belt Conference football opener against North Texas, two other league teams square off Saturday in the first weekend of true conference games.

And one of them will be making a first-time Sun Belt appearance, with Utah State debuting in the league against UL Monroe.

“It’s our first opportunity to play a league game in three years,” said USU coach Mick Dennehy, “so we’re looking forward to it. Since the end of last season, we’ve had fans in withdrawal in terms of the opportunity to play league games again. People have been talking football all spring and summer long.”

  6. UL Football Rekieta counting on his experience

LOUISIANA La. — Eric Rekieta stepped up, so now it’s time for Jerry Babb to step back — at least for now.

When Rekieta relieved a struggling Babb and threw two touchdowns last week at Minnesota, he showed UL Lafayette coaches that his surgically repaired arm had caught up to his senior-year savvy.

That has thrust Rekieta into the starting quarterback role for this week’s Sun Belt Conference game at North Texas for the 0-4 Ragin’ Cajuns.

“The biggest thing that Eric gives us is that little bit of experience,” offensive coordinator Rob Christophel said after Tuesday’s practice.

Rekieta hit 65-of-113 passes for 652 yards and four touchdowns as a junior college transfer in 2002, but spent the spring on the sidelines with Tommy John elbow surgery and a broken hand.

Babb moved into the starting role at that time, and held it through the Cajuns’ first four contests. But when he started poorly at Minnesota, Rekieta was called.

“It took a while for him to knock some of the rust off in two-a-days,” Christophel said. “We brought him along slowly until he started to feel good.

“He has gained some confidence, and the offense has gained confidence with him.”

That is great news, not becuase I am glad Babb has had a slow start to his career but because I am anxious to see what Rekeita can do. I just hope he gets enough reps in practice.

    We want our Beer!

    And

We want the "Bud Man" back as Mascot!

We cannot deny our Cajun Roots!

  9. Default Rekieta gets shot

Senior Eric Rekieta named the starter vs. North Texas.

LOUISIANA La. — Eric Rekieta provided a lift when he subbed for freshman quarterback Jerry Babb in the second period of last Saturday's road loss at Minnesota.

He also displayed the calm a senior can give to an outmanned team.

By game’s end, Rekieta had hit 13-of-23 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns to give UL Lafayette its only points in the 48-14 setback.

That performance has earned the senior the chance to start when the Ragin’ Cajuns return to Sun Belt Conference action this week at North Texas.

“Eric will start the game,” coach Rickey Bustle said on Monday. “He deserves the chance to perform.

  10. UL Football An Eight Game Season

The other day coach bustle said he tore the first 4 games off the schedule. This leaves us with an 8 game season.

    Yahoo

I went back and tallied UL's record for seasons in which the team played 8 games or less.

    14-3-6

    14 winning seasons
    3 seasons with a .500 record
    6 losing seasons.

Odds are we will have a winning season.
