Coach Bartels stepson (a senior) still plays for the Cougars. His name escapes me though. I got the idea that Eric would love to give some payback to his brother for last years loss.

I appreciate the post. I bookmarked the site.
UH did some ____ where they now charge a fee to listen to UH football games via internet radio. Pretty dumb for a school in re-building mode.
Anyway, thanks much for the info. Good luck the rest of the way....

LOUISIANA La. — When senior safety Jamal Smith went down with dislocated ankle five days before the season opener, Louisiana lost a crucial member of its defense.
The week before the South Carolina game sent the Ragin’ Cajun staff scrambling to adjust the secondary, and the effort resulted in some positive moments in a 14-7 loss to the Gamecocks.
Last Saturday against Louisiana Tech, the Cajuns were called for four pass interference penalties and it became clear there was still much to learn about coordination.
Now that Smith has been operated on and will be lost for the season, the staff knows that those adjustments have to be permanent and that the learning curve must be accelerated for younger talent.

Charging actual money to listen to your announcers should be a crime.Originally posted by CapitalCougar

I like what I see. Even though the offense has not been putting up points I like his composure. The points will come.
I agree Chuck, as of today on our depth chart, we have 9 new faces seeing playing time on offense (players who did not play last year for us).Originally posted by Chuck

Young team with a lot of new faces. We shall see this weekend, they have been up and they have been down. Now let's see what they do.
Note: On defense we have 12 new players vs. 9 on offense.

U-HoHo must be running a little short in the old cougie bank. From what I understand the announcers are pretty bad.

Bustle is counting on huge upgrade in execution.
LOUISIANA La. — If this 2003 football season is going to get turned around, it needs to start tonight.
After hosting the Houston Cougars at 7 p.m. at Cajun Field, UL faces a formidable trio of road games at Minnesota, North Texas and Oklahoma State.
So, at 0-2 on the campaign after last week’s demoralizing 34-3 home loss to Louisiana Tech, coach Rickey Bustle’s squad badly needs to get in gear tonight.
“We didn’t play well enough to win against Tech,” Bustle said. “We made too many mistakes on both sides of the ball.
“Our attitude has been good this week. We had a really good Monday, probably better than Monday during the last two weeks, and we’ve been focused on getting our edge back.”
Houston coach Art Briles is just happy to be back on equal footing with an opponent after last week’s 50-3 crunching at the hands of the Michigan Wolverines dropped the Cougars to 1-1 on the year.
