That is the beauty of the internet. People can choose where they want to go and what they want to talk about.

As the Associate Editor of EagleTalk.net I would like to personnelly invite all Cajun Fans to ET for discussion of the upcomming game. I think that you will find that you will be treated with the utmost respect on ET and that you will enjoy coversering with our many members. Due to certain circumstance that I think you may already be aware of ET is a premission only board. But just take a few minutes to go through the process and you will likely be approved within a couple of hours.

I am sure that I (as well as EagleTalk) will be slandered and talked about in the most nasty ways that you can imagin, by individuals that claim allengence to Southern Miss. All I can say is reserve you opinion until you visit ET and talk with the members there. I think that you will find that everyone is free to voice opinions, but we just don't allow adgendas of personnel distruction towards anyone.

In the coming week you may see some interesting posts on your board by USM fans.
The post above is written by one of the Rivals board censors.
If you want to get enjoy the exchanges, just pay close attention to and consider carefully this paragraph from the Rivals Board censor: "I am sure that I (as well as EagleTalk) will be slandered and talked about in the most nasty ways that you can imagin, by individuals that claim allengence to Southern Miss. All I can say is reserve you opinion until you visit ET and talk with the members there. First of all, the spelling is obviously not quite at the level of post high school scholarship which is an indication of the way things might go.
Second, consider the self-cancelling statement about the freedom to "voice opinions" while forbidding posts by people with "adgendas of personnel distruction" (LOL - I can't stop laughing, but you get the idea). The people with "adgendas" are people with whom the censor disagrees.
Third, you will be able to see for yourself which posters intitate "slander" (LOL - I think he means libel).
And fourth, which USM posters have a true allegiance to the University of Southern Mississippi and which posters have an allegiance to our Head Football coach at the expense of the University.
    Enjoy.

We'll be coming in Saturday morning and will be looking for a good "local" place to eat some "local" Mississippi cusine. After that we'll go out to the stadium and meet some of your Alumnus and fans. We'll pull for the Cajuns and hope for a competitive game. Then we head off to "Casino Magic" in Bloxi in an attempt to leave even more money in your beautiful state!! (how's that sound?)

We'll try and get there Saturday morning in time to find a good eating establishment reflecting the "local character" of the area. Sounds like you recommend "Lethea's".....We'll go to the game, meet some USM people, pull for the Cajuns, then it's off to "Casino Magic" in Bloxi for the night......(This will keep the wife happy)

Leatha's is a bar-b-cue joint on US 98 West of the stadium.
    Yes...I recommend it.
It has a website and you can order a 5-6 person tailgate package ($50) to pick up on your way to the stadium.

Now this is something EF and I can agree on Leatha's BBQ is great. You guys also may want to check out Conastoga Steak House, it's been a Hattiesburg landmark for decades.

    Default Idea for university

Heres an Idea, dismiss the 20 dollar fees for students of fraternitys that attend the games. The students who goto the football games. It guarentees debacles, attendance wise, wont happen again.

Here's an idea. Don't punish the football team for a decision made by the admin. Don't say to the football team, "We don't support you because we have to shell out 20 bucks, and you get to suffer for it." I am well aware of the fees attached to just being in a sorority or a frat. I was in a sorority. Skip the party pics once. Skip the t-shirt for the social. Skip the Saturday night downtown or on the Strip one Saturday and hit the books instead. Donate plasma ONCE and get the 20 bucks. (And besides the 20 bucks, you get tested for AIDS and hepatitis when you donate. Never a bad idea to be tested for those.)

I love our student body, but their way of dealing with this was just lame. But that's just my opinion.

Completely unrelated, but I love the flag, LativanCajun. I wish they made one like that. I'd buy it!

To all of those EXCUSES I say they are nothing but pure unadulterated horse ~~~~!! I make no excuses for this post. I just get sick and tired of these lame excuses. I can appreciate some honesty, but these excuses do not fit into that category.

    NCAA Southern Miss vs. Louisiana

Ok guys give us the scoop on the Cajuns this year. First of all congradulations on hiring Ricky Bussle as your HC. I've always been very impressed with him and think that if given a little time he will be very successful at Louisiana.

    As for USM:

This is a rebuilding year of sorts for us. We are breaking in a new offensive staff and improvements have been made, but they aren't showing up in numbers yet. The players you will see on the offensive side of the football for Southern Miss are a far sight from the players we had in the late 90's. We had two subpar recruiting classes (current Jr. and So.) and it's showing up now. The OL is fairly decent with the best player being senior C Jim Hicks. Other than him only RT Jeremy Parquette started last year. At QB we have a big ole question mark. Next week Carter, Almond or D'Angelo could start. WR's are fair and RB is a question mark as well.

Defense is where we are most talented. You have all heard of All Americans Rod Davis and Etric Pruitt, but there are other fine players on the defense including OLB Mike Boley, SS Alex Ray and DE Ronald Jones. The linebackers consisting of Davis, Boley and Antoine Cash are the strength of the defense. Secondary is talented with CB's Corey Yates, Greg Brooks and Johnny Eubanks all three playing a good deal of snaps. Etric Pruitt is the heart of the secondary, but Alex Ray is great on run support. Our DL is nowhere, near as good as in the late 90's when we had 5 NFL players sharing 4 starting positions. DE's Ronald Jones and T. Paul are solid but not great players. Interior DL is very young with Eric Scott, Chad Ruffin and Greg Casnave all seeing lots of snaps.

We have a hot and cold special teams, we have good return units, but our coverage units can be suspect. Punter Luke Johnson had a career day against USF, but has been somewhat inconsistant at times. Johnny Eubanks is one to watch on kick-off returns.

Sounds like you USM guys have some issues to sort out. A simple link to your respective sites would be fine by me. I can make up my mind from there. Lobbying is not necessary.
