the fan base is taking this game very seriously. If you look at the OSU forums none of the fans are considering this to be a cakewalk game
Thank you! I'm glad someone said it. Now if only someone can get on their board and explain that to them.
Some of those fools on that board are trying to throw that stat around when the same damn thing happened to them last week, and they walked away with a big L.
I was just browsing their board and thinking the same thing. All they see is the 500 yards. They don't realize how many throws Troy's QB had to make just to get those yards. They don't realize that less than 5 of those pass plays were 20 yards or more. They seem to be overlooking the fact that keeping everything in front of us we didn't give up any big plays. They seem to forget that WE WON THE FRIGGIN GAME! I don't care what Troy's record was last year or this year. They are always a good team in the conference. And if we can find out a way to give up that many passing yards in that kind of way and come out with the win, what makes them think that can't happen to them? Some of them are loonies, I tell ya. But, I also agree with billbeck451 that if you read what alot of them are saying outright, and if you read between the lines on the rest of them, they know this will not be a cakewalk. And if they're smart enough, they'll know that we might actually win this game. That's why the game is played on the field and not on paper. And, it's not that we might win just because they aren't what they were last year, or that the perception of their team is one that is weak or vulnerable. If we win the game, it will be because we are that danged good, not because they are bad.
I must say though, that even though some of their fans have orange-colored eyeglasses on, they all seem to be nice folk
