Best Whiskey / Bourbon

Well not to tell which bourbon to drink, but try Buffalo Trace and/or Blanton's. IMO Blanton's is the finest bourbon. A bit spendy, but I have 2 glasses of Blanton's on the rocks then switch to Buffalo Trace. I can talk bourbon all day long.

Tried Buffalo Trace last year after seeing it mentioned here and elsewhere. I can't imagine a better Bourbon for the money.

I agree, to me the best value for your dollar. If you get a chance purchase a "spirits aerator", it really brings out a great flavor and will take a little bit of the bitterness away.

There's one called Stranahan's that gets pretty good reviews....

I thought someone on here had mentioned a good bourbon that was made in Colorado, but I cannot find it anywhere. My understanding is there are several small batch distillers in Colorado. If someone remembers can you please post it. I have a friend coming in from Colorado and I would like to try it.

On another note I tried some bourbon from Michigan and I had to spit it out. I will save it for a friend who drinks their bourbon with soft drinks.

Jolie has a really good Colorado whiskey, can't remember the name. It might be Stranahans.

Yes, I am not sure if one would work for both. I noticed they have 2 different types so I do not mix the aerators.

No doubt..... I laugh at those people who pay for some crappy Canadian whisky in a purple bag and then drown it with Coke.... Hell they might as well have bought northern Light for $10 a half gallon

Just remember that Jack Daniels is not bourbon because it is made in Tennessee. Jack Daniels is a Tennessee sipping whiskey. Only whiskey made in 6 (I think) counties in Kentucky can legally be called a bourbon.

The Federal Standards of Identity for Distilled Spirits (27 C.F.R. 5) state that bourbon made for U.S. consumption[3] must be:

Produced in the United States;[4]
made from a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn
aged in new, charred-oak barrels
distilled to no more than 160 (U.S.) proof (80% alcohol by volume )
entered into the barrel for aging at no more than 125 proof (62.5% alcohol by volume); and be
bottled (like other whiskeys) at 80 proof or more (40% alcohol by volume)
