(OT) Branden Curry, (OT) Kevin Bryant, and now OG Jaron Odom have expressed an interest in Ole Miss and vise versa.
"They started calling me in the middle of the season after they saw my tape," commented Jaron Odom. "They like me, and I think they are on the verge of offering me."
Art Kehoe was the offensive line coach for the University of Miami for 26 years and is very well known throughout the state of Florida.
"That is what got me interested in Ole Miss. Coach Art Kehoe is a great coach. He has a big history with the "U" (of Miami)."
Florida State is another school that is getting close to extending a scholarship offer to Odom.
"We have been talking a lot lately. They like me, and I think they are going to offer me pretty soon too."
The OL coach for FSU also stands out for Jaron.
"Coach McCale is a great coach. I went to their camp, and I love the way he coaches."
Jaron has lined up two official visits in December.
"I have scheduled a visit to LA Lafayette for December 3rd, but hopefully we are still in the playoffs. I am suppose to go to Memphis on December 15th, but I could be rescheduling that one too. It all just depends on how far we make it in the playoffs."
Memphis gives Jaron an opportunity for early playing time.
"They are hurting for some offensive linemen. I know if I go there, I will be starting next year. That is pretty big."
And LA Lafayette has built some close ties with the youngster.
"They offered me first, and Coach Jenkins and I talk a lot. I call him almost every day."
Jaron will be looking for two things when it comes decision time.
"How close is their team? Are they like a family? And the education part will be big too. How valuable will my degree be?"
In the meantime, Odom is looking to finish his high school career on a high note.
"We are 9-1 and play North Miami Beach in the second round (of the 6A playoffs) Friday. We think we can go all the way."
Odom has always been known as a strong run blocker, but he thinks he has gotten even better at it this season.
"I am just a lot stronger now. I am dominating in our blocking schemes. I am a much better run blocker this year. I still need to work on my pass blocking. I need to quit letting the speed rushers get by me. I am getting better at it, but I still have some work to go."
Playing with two highly recruited teammates in Branden Curry and Kevin Bryant has brought out the competition between the three offensive linemen.
"We all compete in practices. We like to see who gets the most pancakes. I
