Yep...this Saturday we'll be trying to score against a REAL defense.
Blaine was not sharp last week. Overall an average performance. I look forward to having my concerns eased this weekend.
Some of those passes Blaine threw last week would have been picks against a Troy secondary. Hope he cleans it up. I believe he will. The guy is a gamer. He always steps up in the big situation! Looking forward to this game very much!
It's a stretch to extrapolate outcomes from other games. How we match up with Troy this weekend has little to do with UL's or Troy's prior contests. I also don't look at any past contests between our programs to evaluate this match up. My gut feeling tells me this will be a battle to the very end. I believe the game will be decided on the last score inside of 3 minutes.
If you are correct and the game comes down to the final drive I like our chances. I would put the cajun two minute offense and Baer's leg up against any defense in the belt when the game is on the line.
What makes me excited is that UL won by 40 in a shutout and one of the main story lines after the game is "we need improvement on offense". This is what big time programs experience that we have not in the past. This is a good sign overall for the state of this program.
