LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Louisiana-Lafayette Coach Mark Hudspeth says an MRI exam has confirmed that starting running back Montrel Carter is out for the season.
He says that the redshirt freshman tore two ligaments in his left knee in his first college game, the Ragin' Cajuns' 40-0 victory over Lamar.
Hudspeth says surgery probably will be next week, after swelling subsides.
