I have a Question Re: Montrel Carter injury?

How long did James Butler play with a bad knee (during high school)?Like three years?

Then someone comes on here without any confirmation of facts & says dude has all this damage & is scheduled for surgery Wednesday. Then several people start wishing the guy condolences like he got his leg caught in a wood chipper for ten minutes before somebody shut the thing off. I would appreciate it if someone with specific first hand knowledge would let us little people in on the secret before saying bon voyage to this guy's career.
Dude, you can walk and be active in your daily life without an ACL. Hell, it was just released a while back that James Butler played several years in high school with no ACL in one knee. This can be done with proper muscle management that athletes tend to have. 4me is right, even a good athletic trainer can typically give you a pretty accurate assessment of the knee by doing various manipulations. They get the MRI to confirm but a knee injury of that magnitude is often accurately assessed before they've had the MRI. Now, I've never really heard of tests determining partial tears in a meniscus which is more of a shock absorption cartilage but the ACL is a different story.

This is Montrel Carter's status on Facebook...I like his outllook on this...he deserves a good outcome on his recovery....a fine young man

"sorry Cajun fans..I promise I'll work my ___ off and come back from this injury stronger. this injury was just a minor setback for a major comeback..and once I'm back, I'll pick up from right where I left off. Thanks to all my family and friends who are supporting me through this..I love y'all."

i am gonna enjoy watching Qyen play at Cajun Field. His speed as a linebacker is some of the best play we have seen in a long while. His running down a ball carrier was awesome. One play, he ran across field and got the guy behind the line. Awesome.

You know how some people can predict flood levels by looking at river gauges? Well doctors are like that. The diagnosis based upon leg manipulations are akin to your river gage readings.....

  10. Default Running back Montrel Carter to undergo MRI

He got the start at running back in his first game as a Cajun, a season-opening win over Lamar on Saturday night.

But Cecilia High product Montrel Carter exited late in the opening quarter with an injured left knee, after having gained 27 yards on six carries.

Now that wasn't called for Chucky. I am glad to see that so many are so well versed in leg injuries. I always thought with my limited experience that such tears required immobilization, icing until the swelling began to subsde, & an MRI to confirm such a range & extent of torn tissue. This plus an X-rays to see if the synovial fluid sack was punctured & any damage done to the bones. That was What doctor Schutte told me once upon a time. But what the hell does he know. He's just the team's orthopedist & one of the finest surgeons in the south last time I checked.
