You know I was around for the first go round change to Ragin Cajuns and you have to know coaches wishes don't mean squat in this area. If you left it up to coaches they would change school colors. Ragin Cajuns didn't stick because coach Russ liked it. No sir it sticking had to do with a majority of fans liking it and using it. I didn't like it much but I am used to it now. Just remember this if Lady Cajuns sticks around or doesn't it will be thanks to the fans and alumni not some here today gone tomorrow coaches.Originally Posted by BirdofParadise

The comparison to the UL naming issue is not valid. In college sports, the use of "Lady" to identify women's sports has become a standard. It is highly convenient for fans and far from insulting. If I were a coach in women's college sports, my requests would be geared toward funding and support... and "honoring" the wishes of my fans.Originally Posted by BirdofParadise

I hope all the people who claim to be Cajun fans step up and show their support for this great feat. Austin is not that far. I don't mean to complain already but if it were the men's team, everyone would be going. I hope someone proves me wrong and we have a great turnout. I know me and my family are going, JOIN US!!!
