Congrats to Y Jones, I hope she or some other Lady Cajun has it in them to step up and become players of the week throughout the rest of the season.

If I am hearing right with 7 minutes left the Lady Cajuns are up 55-50
They are almost doubling up on rebounds and led by 5 at half
Geaux Cajuns
The final score was 69 - 61 Cajuns.
Ragin Cajun women win again tonight. They beat USA. I think score was 69 to 61. Yolanda Jones had 23 points in the win.Originally Posted by DaddyCajun
With the exception of a couple lapses in judgement on some passes,I was very impressed with our ladies overcoming an early deficit and controlling the game the whole way. I was also impressed by them holding onto the lead down the stretch and hitting some key FT in the final 2 mins.
Also, the crowd was really good for a mid week game. Hopefully it won't be too sparse of a crowd this Sunday, if you know what I mean. I think though, with the exception of this sunday, crowds will continue to be good for our ladies. They are playing great.
God Bless
GEAUX UL LADY CAJUNS BASKETBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This team is so much fun to watch. Man, I wish this game was a double header with the men's team. Earl K. Long looks great and thanks to the people who took the time and money for this. The next big improvement has to be to the concession area. They need to put a real concession area and a place for UL items to be sold.
I would like to see an expansion of locker rooms, concession's, and restrooms being done with Southern Structure type steel beam buildings(with VERMILION roofing on these structures and Blackham) tied into Blackham.
Inner halls of Blackham finished with steal(light color) and painted or stained floors through out.
Then take the seating and chairback the court lengths on both sides first 250 seats on both sides of the center court for SEASON TICKET HOLDERS, as those are sold out then chair back another 250 on each side till that WHOLE sucker is DONE. There will be almost all season ticket holders, some space for walkups(at first), and the Verm Zones for students!!
Of course a better broadcast box will be constructed for Jay Bird and his counter parts!!!
New court to be put down!!!
Two Guns(for basketball shoot around) will be purchased for the ladies and a second for the men as they have one already.
Biggers nicer score boards will be installed and we should get the city to overlay the parking areas also!!
DaddyCajun's Dream,
it WILL come true.
5+ years of work was not done for nothing!!!
I am going to the mid week game in Hammond, UL vs SLU this Spring for Baseball. My godchild wants to pitch or play outfield for UL and has the eye of Tony on him.Originally Posted by RaginFan2

When South Alabama's Whitney Woodard banked in a one-handed desperation three-pointer with 2:25 left, pulling her team within one point, Yolanda Jones wasn't worried.
"We're playing much better as a team right now," Jones said. "We knew if we kept doing that, we'd be all right."
Jones and her UL women's basketball teammates responded down the stretch, holding off the visiting Jaguars for a 69-61 victory Wednesday at Long Gym to pull within one-half game of the Sun Belt Conference Western Division lead.
The Cajuns (15-5, 7-2), winning their fifth straight game, hit six of eight free throws in the final 2:04 and point guard Jeanenne Colbert hit a clutch driving layup with 55 seconds left to provide a 64-60 lead.

Sounds good to me. Do you know the date/time? I took some classes at SLU a few years ago, so I know where the baseball stadium is located. Hope we can meet there. Keep me posted. Any one else from the Northshore (or BR or even Lafayette) want to come out to Hammond let us know.Originally Posted by DaddyCajun
UL's women's basketball team has won five straight games and eight of its last nine, and has moved itself into a tie for the Sun Belt Conference's Western Division lead.
But the Ragin' Cajuns are still only at the halfway mark of the league race, and senior forward Yolanda Jones said talk about league titles is premature.
"It's way too early for us to think about that," Jones said Wednesday after her 23-point, 11-rebound effort helped the Cajuns take a 69-61 win over South Alabama. "We've still got to play a lot of good teams. We're not thinking about where we are in the rankings yet."
But you can bet Cajun coach J. Kelley Hall has thought about it - a lot.
With Arkansas State falling at nationally-ranked Middle Tennessee Thursday night, the Indians and the Cajuns are both 7-2 in the Western Division with nine games to go. But UL probably has a tougher schedule down the stretch.
