Texas and Nebraska both use black, neither have black as a school color, Norte dame using green which is an accent color, va tech uses black which is not a school color. I'll take black helmets and pants at a bowl game every year rather than our "traditional uni" to go with our traditional 3-9 record

Number one you are selling Hud and staff short to say they would be 3-9 if they stuck to school colors. Your logic is saying the only reason we won is because of black. 2 every school you mentioned uses black as a color they may break out once or twice a year then it is completly out of the uni unlike ours it never leaves. ND has always had a green jersey. 3rd just going out on a limb but you sound like a guy who would eat hooters wings all day and drip grease on a wool rug.

Actually if HUD thinks black helmets are necessary for him to recruit,compete, win, fire up the players etc... Then I trust his judgement. It was his call to add black, until he proves otherwise, I trust his judgment. We only wore black 3 times, Troy,wku and the bowl game. Wku was only the helmet, not the pants. Notre dame may have always had a green jersey but what about 4 leaf clovers on their helmet? What about the mirror helmets they wore last year? I trust that current coaches, who currently recruit, current high school athletes know a lot more about what young athletes want and like. "outfits" might not mean much to you or I but neither does wearing blue jean shorts with a braided belt and velcro sneakers.

First of all Baldwin is the first to introduce black into uni. (which is a big reason I dont care for it). You need to check the FIU and ASU film for black pants. 2nd all that gibberish about you need black helmets to recruit is hog wash go ask alabama auburn lsu usc so caroliana mich mich st arkansas...... They are winners because they go with tradition over gimmick. I know they all have that combat crazy uni but thats not a fair comparison or what I am talking about. If the university wants to change the colors to vermillion and black then do so but give me the unis we have where black is as dominate as red and white and say our colors are verm and white

USC, bama and Oklahoma are pretty much the only 3 in America that don't alter their uniforms. We wanted a coach to change the culture of losing, he is doing that. Going out on a limb you see like the kind of guy who would walk out of Cajun field after finally getting to see us kick Troy's a s s and say something like, I don't care if we wear black if we keep playing like that.

What material are the shirts made from---like cotton, nylon, synthetic,whatever---Are they used just one game--Remember the tear away jerseys???? An opponent was holding so much Coach Sibille wanted "tear away Jerseys for the defensine line!!!!

You have yet to give an example that compares apples to apples. Breaking out a black uni for a big game is not the same as making it a dominate color of a school who does not have black in its color. Give me an example of any other school where one individual has come in and made himself larger than the 100 plus years history and made a non school color a dominate color in the uni 50% of the time? Then you would have an apples to apples comparison. To answer your question I am a guy who thinks color of a uniform has nothing to do with the out come of a football game. I think if we had not an ounce of black in our uni last year we would have 9-4 with a NO bowl victory. Going out on a limb just a guess, you know you are on the wrong side of this discussion but in to deep now to admit it.
