Check out the recent rankings by CBS Sports 124. UL starts the season at #34. Very nice. Now, let's end the season higher!

Really. I didn't even notice the ranking. I was checking out the sale at Kohl's.
La Tech - 65, SOS - 118. OIE!!!!
So looking at the rankings UMass is ranked almost last ... they are moving up in divisions?
Two CUSA schools right at the bottom. How strong IS that conference?
The mediocre bowl in Shreveport. #64 Tamu v #65 Techsters.
UL at 34, FIU at 38, and A-State at 51. This is nice and all but does anyone actually think this is accurate?
We are the highest ranked Sunbelt team right? And the bowl that is projected is the Kraft fight hunger bowl?
Is this bowl a better game than the other 2 sunbelt tie in bowls?? Is he trying to say we are the best team in the sunbelt but we will not win the conf?? a bit confusing.
I wouldn't pay attention to the bowl tie-ins. Most of these guys are clueless in how those decisions are made. The bottom line is that until a BCS bowl comes knocking the best bowl for the Cajuns is in New Orleans. You could more than double the half mil payout from the Orleans bowl and it still wouldn't make ti worthwhile for the Cajuns to travel to another bowl out of the immediate region.
Polls are based upon perception. The perception of the SBC is already much higher now that UL has finally begun to find it's rightful place in the conference. A conference with a whole list of who's who in coaches who will be sought for higher profile jobs. As I said earlier, the college football viewing world will be watching the Ragin Cajun squad this season. They will be ready to cast the monicker of the next Boise St. upon them.
