This is a tempest in a teapot.
I think we may be missing the point. Let's not argue what the law says. We are to the point where drastic change needs to happen. Go to the legislature and make your best pitch on why law needs to be CHANGED. Let's cut the grey area out and become THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA. No matter how pointless it may be to try. For that matter, try every year or multiple times a year. Introduce it into every bill you can. It's now or never as far as I'm concered.
oh..you mean more important things than say loss of money due to the oilfield tanking, thus costing the state million of dollars in royalty payments...people of out jobs, people leaving the state, homes being given up to foreclosure...yeah, you know, the unimportant things beside a name change.....guess you weren't old enough.....
Yea - he definitely missed the point. But should that surprise, considering some the insane drivel he posts here.
BWK said it nicely... If there is a public servant monitoring this stuff, and drawing a salary, then they should be terminated with cause immediately.
And likewise, civilians that constantly monitor it, should remove the tin foil helmet from their heads, get a life, or check into the nearest mental institution an get help.
Go Cajuns! Whip some FAU azz!
Although I agree with the original post. And that marketing and name issues are a problem. Nobody will call us UL or Louisiana and we get Lafayette-ed in every mention.....not to be confused by the Lafayette Leopards. Damned if we do, damned if we don't. Someone will always have 2 cents on our name and someone won't be happy about it.
Believe me, I don't want to sing the DA's praises here, but to be fair--the newspaper doesn't write things like obituaries or wedding announcements. They are written by the families and submitted. At least in the case of obituaries, the family has to pay for the space.
