So UL fans amongst 119 1A institutions should pretend as though we are not happy this young man has made a commitment to UL? OM you are way off base, nobody will recind their commitment because the local fans are happy. And what in the hell does fighting for a championship have to do with this guys commitment? WE ARE FANS and do not have to stay focused, or focus on the next game. That is the job of the coaches and players. I am pretty sure when Mr. Weathers put it in the Advocate our committed player was not upset. He might get upset if we fans are not very happy about his arrival.Originally Posted by Oldman

P.S. It's all in jest good buddy.
Apparently he is older than proper puncuation. he needs to mix in a comma or semi-colon, or wait until the future when all these posts are in audio instead of text. Oh wait, we already have that, it's called Birds Eye View. Which brings me to another point, and totally away from topic, but why can't it just be called the Jay Walker show? All the names for those shows suck.Originally Posted by Kal

When Kyle Plouhar became UL’s first verbal commitment to the 2007 recruiting class, it capped a football odyssey for the 6-foot-6, 290-pounder.
He’s at Fontainebleau High in Mandeville right now, and committed to the Cajuns mostly because he wanted to go to a school close to home. That ruled out places like Connecticut, Oregon State, Ball State, Army and Michigan State, all of which had shown interest.
You couldn’t blame him for staying close. After starting at tackle at the District 4-5A contender as a sophomore, Plouhar had to relocate to Salem, Ore., early in his junior season in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
He played his junior year at Sprague High in Salem, a program that won a state title in Oregon the previous year, and returned to Fontainebleau for his senior season.
“I really wanted to get back down here and be with my friends and classmates,” Plouhar said.
