There will be two empty seats on the players bench at most. You can have 13 players on scholarship and we have 11 at this time. Many teams don't have their full allotment. With only one senior on the team and one commitment already garnered for the following year, we will have only two scholarships to give in the early signing period which occurs in mid-November.

In the current case there is no scandal, what Marlin did was lock up a player in case he was cleared in time, he wasn't, nothing lost.

Two very good points. On the second one, people need to read and re-read that ... they signed a good size player to fill a void; time was of the essence. Then they did a full review of his current situation and realized that it was probably best to not retain the player.

I don't base my decision to support MY university's basketball program on "whether or not we have a product worth buying tickets to see."

But I guess that's why you're the self-proclaimed bandwagon princess.

I couldn't agree more. I have 8 tickets and all will be filled every game. I think this is going to be his best team that he has put on the court. I will go on the record right now saying we will win 20 games this year.

Here is a much more likely scenario, they asked Marlin what happened and he told them, then they wanted to get the other side of the story to see which held more water. If the players excuse was plausible an offer would have been made, otherwise they would not have made the call at all.

Coaches put a lot of stock in what the previous coach thinks. Example; Marlin put a lot of stock in the opinion of Francis last coach, to much in fact, and not enough into the law. But I can tell you this if the last coach had said Francis was a headache, the recruiting would have stopped right there.
Turbine one would think you are paying Marlin salary you are so.blindly dedicated. One major problem with your logic is that his family got smart and sent in the name of two schools they knew coaches but Raymone had no intention of attending and low and behold the coaches were called. These coaches did not call Bob or his staff. They made a point to call. Coaches were told Raymone's mom was a problem. They said she would interupt UL practices. That was a blatant lie. That is going too far. You all can hope and pray but there is tremendous problems in UL basketball. Unfortunately for those of us who have been fans the problems are at the top so you can stop blaming these kids for getting out. Respect is hard to earn but easy to lose and truth be told Marlin lost the respect of his players and that is what started all of this.

    Absolutely!

It has already been established that in year one he did as good a job as Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski who had soon to be drafted senior Gene Banks.

And in year two he did better than coach K's 10 wins

And if he gets more than 11 wins in year three . . . he will be ahead of MK's schedule.

You are proving Marlins case that Ramone's family / friends are head cases.

We sure aren't reading posts from Kentwan Smiths family/friends. We aren't reading posts from Kadeem Coleby's family/friends. Or what about J.J. Thomas' family/friends? Nope, they're not posting either. What about Darnell Jackson? They're not here either.

Only Raymone's people are on a message board yet you claim Marlin is FOS. . Isn't that funny.

sorry. I back my Cajuns no matter what...and took offense to someone saying "it had to be worth it" before they could be fans. Didn't mean to insult.
