Teurlings Catholic Lady Rebels senior forward Lyndra Bell had a handful of colleges who offered a basketball scholarship, but in the end she decided staying home to play for J. Kelley Hall and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns was for the best.
"I really felt like I needed to stay home," said Bell, who gave Hall a verbal commitment. "I wanted to make it easier on my parents to watch me play."
The 6-0 Bell, who is expected to play the small forward position for the Cajuns, chose UL over Southern Mississippi, UL Monroe and Tulane.
"I didn't make any visits other than to UL," Bell said. "I had an open mind of where I wanted to go, but I knew that I really wanted to stay home."
