In what I would consider the modern age of the Sun Belt (2000-present), only 2 players from this conference have been drafted higher than Tillman and they were both in the first round. Leodis McKelvin (Troy, '08) with the 11th overall pick and Demarcus Ware with the 11th overall pick as well in the '05 draft. If the Cajuns continue on the upward path, beating 35th overall is possible.

We can definitely beat it. But it will likely have to be a lineman not a skill position guy.

UL has three potential 1st round picks on their squad & several more early, mid, & late rounders. They just need to achieve their maximum potential & stay healthy.

I don't know about the 1940's but Tillman went the highest in the modern era. In the 2nd round

Do you guys think if White has a great season and shows some good speed and skills in his pre-draft workouts that he could go pretty high? Bill went in the 3rd and a big knock on him was his size at 5' 10" , 182.

when scouts were here last year watching bill and LG, several were very impressed with melvin, he is a big corner even in the nfl.

I totally agree with the talent thing but he didn't really sustain it.

Tillman was his first class when hopes are high and recruiting to the imagination has no barriers. Year one is the easiest year to recruit to and then you have to produce to keep the momentum. Hud style.

Baldwin also brought in Dugas (or was it Stokley) but Bustle got rid of him as an example when I think he could have worked with him. Bustle also took year one recruiting way to easy (only 17 signees in a bare cupboard) and missed out on building a team around Babb.

I agree with you if the momentum keeps going some of Huds players will get drafted higher, and a bunch will get drafted period.

Who are three potential 1's BWK?

I will play devils advocate with you

ps Nick Dugas was a Baldwin recruit, still holds the record for most UL receptions in a game "14" 2001

Hard to believe Baldwin had Kyries Hebert to work with as well.

Coaching is so important and can't be overlooked.

I stated this multiple times before if Melvin has a great season, and runs somewhere around 4.4 forty at combine
he will be drafted second round or higher

You can't teach someone to be a 6'3 corner
