  1. Alumni HOMECOMING 2006: ‘PLAYING TO WIN, ALWAYS BET ON RED’


      The University of Louisiana will be welcoming alumni and fans alike during Homecoming 2006 which kickoffs Oct. 21. This year’s theme is “Playing to Win, Always Bet on Red.”

    On Oct. 28, Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns will take on Middle Tennessee at Cajun Field. The game starts at 4 p.m.

    A week of activities is planned for both students and alumni starting with a triathlon on Oct. 21 at the Student Aquatic Center at Bourgeois Hall on campus. The event will start at 7:30 a.m. For more information, visit www.lafayettefitness.org

    On Oct. 22, a Homecoming Mass will be held at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church on campus. Later that afternoon, from 5 to 6 p.m., the public is invited to view student spirit displays in front of Dupré Library. The displays will remain up throughout the week.

    A cake giveaway and spirit banner signing will start at 11:45 a.m. Oct. 23. In addition, the day’s Spirit Spot will be Hub City Diner. Those ordering the Ragin’ Cajun lunch special will receive free game tickets. A faculty door decorating contest will start at 2 p.m. as will judging for the Residence Hall banner competition.

    At 5 p.m., the annual Homecoming Kickoff party will begin at the Alumni Center on St. Mary Boulevard. Fans, students and the community are invited to join the 2006 Homecoming Court, the UL Lafayette cheerleaders, marching band and Ragin’ Jazz in supporting Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns. At 7 p.m., students can enjoy a Casino Night at the Student Union Ballroom where they can win gift certificates and other items.

  2. UL Football UL homecoming week under way today


      Homecoming Week at UL kicks off today with a triathlon that begins at the Student Aquatic Center. Activities continue during the week, leading up the homecoming game at 4 p.m. Oct. 28 as the Cajuns take on Middle Tennessee at Cajun Field.

    This year's theme: "Playing to Win, Always Bet on Red."

    Sunday
