ASHLEY IS ALL THEY HAVE. CATCHER IS GOOD, HOWEVER THE REST OF THE TEAM IS POOR. THE TEAM GOES AS ASHLEY GOES. I WATCHED HER AGAINST A TEAM THAT WOULD PROBALLY BE TOP 4 IN 2A AND SHE STUCK OUT 20 OF THE 21 OUTS. SHE IS OUTSTANDING.

I think we also signed the Curtis first base player as well, who is also rated very highly.
You are correct that one of Ashley's team mates has signed with the Lady Cajuns also. She too is supposed to be something special!!!
Bridges is a teammate of fellow UL signee Ashley Brignac at John Curtis in River Ridge. Bridges plays first base for JCHS and has lettered in softball for the past three seasons.
Bridges has earned All-District honors for the past three years and has earned All-State honors each of the last two seasons.
Bridges belted 11 home runs and posted a 1.074 slugging percentage for the Patriots in 2006. For her career she has hit 21 home runs and had a batting average above .400 each year.
In 2006, Bridges was a member of the Louisiana Junior Olympic Development Team camp.

When looking at which high school softball teams has the toughest road to winning a state championship from the area, without a doubt it’s the Mamou Lady Demons, who are faced with the challenge of playing against the defending Class 2A champions John Curtis.
In fact, there may not be anyone outside of Mamou giving the Lady Demons much of a chance to compete with John Curtis and that’s largely because of senior pitcher Ashley Brignac.
It may be more accurate to call her all-world pitcher Ashley Brignac, because this kid is an absolute stud. Brignac, who is a Louisiana-Lafayette signee, is simply unbelievable.
In two seasons in Class 2A, Brignac has been unreal. She hasn’t allowed an earned run since her sophomore season and is 23-0 this year with two perfect games.

I believe its all been said before, in much more glowing terms, without the Lafayette tag. Nice earring, though.Originally Posted by NewsCopy

SULPHUR - As it turns out, UL signee Ashley Brignac is human after all.
The star pitcher for John Curtis, Brignac's amazing streak in the postseason ended during a 10-0 win over Mamou Friday in a Class 2A state softball quarterfinal when Kaitlin Duplechin hit a flare in the fifth inning to left field for a base hit.
In her two previous playoff games, Brignac fired a pair of perfect games, striking out 35 of 36 batters. Against Mamou, Brignac allowed just the one hit and struck out 15 batters in the five-inning game.
Duplechin said afterwards that she almost didn't run to first base, because she couldn't believe she got a hit.
"It doesn't really matter to me,'' said Brignac, who had struck out 369 of 467 batters this season entering Friday's game. "A win is a win.''

In the last 2 years I believe she has given up 2 runs both unearned lol I think they got it even if they only score 1 run a game lolOriginally Posted by lcitsh
So this basically means she has struck out 50 of the last 52 batters she has faced? I really don't see how that hit is significant, lol.Originally Posted by NewsCopy
That is just stupid rediculous.
5 games , 0 runs scored. Yeah, she outclassed Class 2A.Originally Posted by Clutch0364
No in the last 2 years she has not lost a game and she has given up 0 earned runs not just in the playoffs but during the season. It doesn't matter what level she plays at that is unbelievable. Don't undermind what she has done because its against 2A...lets think about basketball Elijah Milsap was the freshman of the year and he played 1aOriginally Posted by lcitsh
