Ben is using the article in The Chronicle (follow the link) and it is terribly misleading. No member of the Freer Group has spoken publicly, due to their confidentiality agreement, and a "spokesperson" for the Freer Group made it clear that no one from their group spoke to The Chronicle. An "unidentified source" made the quote this article tags to an investigator. Many people, far from this claim of "blood lust" took only the exact information reported by the Freer Group and drew conclusions that the NCAA's actions were appropriate.
But yes... to all ignorant souls out there... we, the members of the NCAA, are clearly at their mercy for interpreting their complete role in the governing of NCAA athletics. If that's news to anyone, you need to get out from under the rock from time to time.
This is a very poorly sourced, and then far worse, misleading, article. This is the kind of Bush League article that punks read and take as fact in our modern Internet world.
