Couple In Domestic Shooting Had History Of Domestic Violence

The woman arrested for second-degree murder in the shooting death of her roommate/on-again-off-again boyfriend in Youngsville Tuesday night, filed a protective order against him last year.

Just weeks after Tammy Romero filed the order against Victor Wirtz, it was dismissed at her request. According to court documents, Romero claimed she was shoved, stalked and threatened by Wirtz. It's unclear why she petitioned the courts to drop the protective order.

Romero is being held on $250-thousand bond in the shooting. According to the Youngsville Police Department, Romero and Wirtz were involved in a physical dispute at her home, when Romero tried to call 911. Officers say that's when Wirtz grabbed the phone, so Romero gabbed a hand gun from a nearby drawer. Wirtz was shot dead, he was 45-years-old.
